I don't think once or twice does it I think it's more habitual use of alcohol, or if not habitual fewer heavy uses nearing poisoning by alcohol. I think though I'm not a doctor

+Eric Llanos No. There are different "faces" of FAS because it effects children differently. It effected the frontal lobe of a few of these kids, which controls one's self-control and ability to see right from wrong. But there are other cases in which the damage is much worse. I guess it depends on how much the mother drank. A few mistakes of drinking while pregnant VS having no regard from abstaining from alcohol during the 9 months can show in children with FAS.

+Eric Llanos It's a video that show less that 1% or their lives. If you had a family member with FASD you would understand the terrible daily struggle they go through. Down Syndrome is a completely different disorder. They cannot be compared.

It most likely varies from person to person & what stage they're in; if you take a drink while the fetus is undergoing organogenesis vs. when it's already mostly developed, I'm sure there's a big difference. I just go w/ what i learned while studying for my boards. If what I posted is the general consensus in the medical world, it's what I would tell someone if they asked me from a medical standpoint.

Bob Parker My mother drank 1-2 glasses of wine/every few days while she was pregnant with me (in the later stages of pregnancy) on her doctor's advice, to relax her. Now, I'm 32 years old, and I've struggled a lot since I was 11 with severe anxiety, avoidance, and agoraphobia. I've never been diagnosed with anything (besides mental illness) but sometimes I wonder if my mom's drinking while pregnant with me (upon her doctor's advice) had anything to do with how my life has played out and how I've struggled throughout my life.
